I do not disagree, if he would misrepresent the car after the inquiry ( he does state the car was repainted in the ad, so it seems to me it would be necessary to ask why when inquiring ), as there can be extenuating circumstances as many repaints were due to accidents or misuse and many were retitled thru certain states with lax laws, with insurance totals and retitled with clean titles. I for one would sooner have a car that was color changed because the original color was terrible than one that was repainted due to an accident, misuse or neglect. Of course the best situation to have is a perfect original paint car, with everything kept to perfection in appearance to Porsche concours category #1 and driving standards, however they are very to hard to find in this price range. Also not everyone wants a perfect original for the additional price. As I alluded to in my first response I have had them both ways ( never a rebuilt wrecked one ) and have always decided to keep a certain color changed car ( and happy to have the difference money that I got for the perfect originals I sold ) because it is so nice in other ways. So yes, a seller should always volantary disclose the reason for the repaint,. You , and your friend that took offence, think it should be disclosed in the innitial ad. I don't know how many times I have inquired into 930s for sale ( as a matter of fact most of them ) that after close examination of all the things I consider when buying for myself or a client, I discover things that are not disclosed that make me wonder why I called. That what makes finding just what I'm looking for, when I find it, all seem worth it.
