I have driven an E36 M a few times.
and a 944 turbo. Stock for stock? I think the M would edge out the turbo barely. Its power is consistent, no turbo lag. They M is ~240Hp factory but a wee bit heavier. They really are a pretty fair match, unless you need to haul 4 ppl... Then the M beats the **** out of the 951....
