The answer is yes, that much force is required.
If you want to send your gearbox to Florida, I would contact Roger at Orbit Racing. I think he's building these gearboxes.
If you want to ship it farther into the states, California Motorsports in AZ is another option. Bobby Hart was one of the original guys rebuilding these gearboxes.
