Well, I took all suggestions. I checked to make sure my outlook was set as my default program - and it was.
So, I went to the uninstall menu and uninstalled Windows Live Essentials. This solved the problem.
Seems odd that Microsoft sells Windsow Live and Microsoft Outlook - but since when has Microsoft ever made sense from a users point of view. As a business model they are brilliant...fill up computers with useless programs (like ms works, and their crappy scaled down spreadsheet) and then basically you have to purchase word & excel just to be compatable with the entire word. Microsoft gets the benefit of selling two programs when you only need the one. This is the exact reason that I have absolutely no guilt or shame when I copy a program from time to time.
Thanks all....
