The dip in the market up here is more subtle, but I have a few clients taking advantage of it.
It can be tricky when the offer is contingent on the sale of a home... timing and pricing is key. I've had a couple people try to get top dollar for their place while lowballing their "upsized" home... usually doesn't end well.
The ones I've done well with are ones where we go out and find 2-3 homes they really like, and then put their house on the market at a really aggressive price to get an accepted offer in a couple weeks. Shoot for a longer (6+ week) closing and then go out shopping with straight offers.
