My first car was a 1984 Audi Quattro 4000, which was a '
hand me down' from my sister when she went off to college. It served both of us very well through the High School years. It was eventually scrapped at over 250,000 miles with only minor maintenance. Great car for the winters in Vermont.
I moved to NYC and had no need for a car until after college when I could finally afford to buy something of my own. I always liked the BMW 2002s and looked around for a good one. I found a decent example, but it was hiding some rust and needed constant small repairs, fun little car to drive though, very basic.
Decided to move up to a 911, after doing some research I realized I could afford a decent 911SC. We found a nice 79 Targa that was a blast to drive.
After our son was born, we needed a car with better heat and AC that worked so we bought a 964. Great car, still fun to drive but much more comfortable.
We moved to Japan in April. My Father-In-Law had a friend selling a VW Lupo, I knew nothing about this model, but it was a great deal and has been a perfect little car for us.
I notice that I have only owned German cars!
I still want another 911, hopefully in the next couple of years...
