Type 4 conundrums
Test fitted my vw T4 2L engine in my 912, got a few questions that i need answering:
I intend to use the standard engine mounting bar that came with the engine (from a wedge type vw camper), and at this stage it looks like it should line up with the brackets for the original porsche engine support(i'll have to cut it down widthways, though). Can anyone confirm whether this is the case? Wikll it line up?
Another thing is that i don't know the coreect height for the engine. If i modify the engine mount, i can have it at different heights. How high should the engine be? If i use the typr four mount, would i get the right height by bolting it right up to the brackets in the engine bay, or would this be too high?
Does anyone know how i go about wiring this engine up? I'm assuming as i have an alternator now i won't need the regulator, but thats as far as i have got, and i'm probably wrong....
