Yes, all Porsches had power steering after 1989. There were significant chassis changes after '89, so I would guess it's not straight forward. 944s had power steering too.
Would think someone had looked into though. The smart racing product is really nice- uses an electric powered pump and a new rack but at $4K it,s beyond my desire. At half that, I would go for it!
