I have to replace the mixer faucet in the kitchen. Problem is it's the only one in the house with no shut off between the hot water tank and the faucet.
Question is: what's the best way to drain the tank so there is no water coming out!

Do I just shut of the cold to the tank & run the tap 'til it's empty?
Is the burner likely to start up? etc etc.
PS I hate messing with gas!
