I have empirical evidence of what happens when you get hit from behind using a glass bumper. All I'm going to say is that you have to consider that both the front and rear FG bumpers are not only mounted by two brackets of any number of designs, but also attached along the top to the quarter panel in back and the front fender in case of the fronts.

Any impact will deliver force all along these areas. I know. Or maybe I built some strong bumpers.
