I'll mirror what Juan said regarding safety. I work at a hospital that sees all the trauma in the upper part of California. I have said for years that we see an equal amount for car, motorcycle and quad trauma. Given the relative numbers out there quad riders get injured quite a bit. Often its a yahoo riding a friends down a unknown road without a helmet. Hitting bumps, embankments, gates, gravel, holes - femur fractures, arm injuries, major head trauma. Message - you can't be too careful.
