I would replace that HP with anything else at your earliest opportunity.
I had a HP DV7000 which experienced the common wireless card problems.
Basically what happens is your wireless goes out and then shortly after the motherboard dies.
It's a known problem and HP refuses to warranty them. I called customer service and when they answered was told that to even speak to me would cost $45. I told them to go **** themselves and got a Mac.
