Events recording is not a CarFax function (they just search database). Up here its a Ministry of Transportation function and they don't miss much...
My 1983 has 17 records, from when it was first plated in early 83 to my last renewal in 2010. It includes all plates renewal and 2 garage visit (in Quebec garage have to report Odometer reading).
It vary depending of the location. I ran a CarFax on the 2 nd cab in Canada (British Columbia) and the event reporting start in the Mids 90, samething for the 1st Cab in the US (California).
