if i were YOU i would haul azz to find ANY MARLIN made in north haven as they have been purchased by cerebus capital holdings aka remington. all hand fitted parts WILL become MIM(metal injection molded) parts and put together by retarded minkees(monkees).
i have been tooting my horn on this and will laugh when its all said and done.
we got wind of this a while back, therefore being the dirty rotten scoundrels we are..........
1) 1895 XLR 45/70 stainless 26" barrel
2) 1895 GS 45/70 stainless 18.5" barrel
3) 1894 SS .44 mag stainless 18.5" barrel
4) 1894 CSS .357 mag stainless 18.5" barrel
the only one not buttered up and foo foo'd is the 1895GS which i havent even had a chance to shoot yet.
when i say "buttered" up , i mean a nelson ford(thegunsmith.com) action job where all ya need is (1) finger to lever a round IN or OUT of the action.
on the other (3) we have added brownells chrome silicone mag tube springs, wild west guns alum. mag tube follower.
if i find a stainless .30/.30 (like i need another) i will probably buy it and just leave it NIB unfired for some rainy day.
grab any while you can made in north haven, conn. by the way north haven is OFFICIALLY CLOSED and all calls are being taken in n. carolina.
wild west guns
brockmans
are some of the gurus of lever actions. especially big bore dangerous game levers.
