I did at one time when my daughter got student of the month but that was at a different school. I sold the truck long ago so the sticker went away.
I think it is important to recognize achievements like that, encouraging good behavior. Teaching a kid what "good" looks like.
Can you imagine the message I would have sent if my daughter got an award like that and gave me a bumper sticker acknowledging that fact and I ignored it?
That'd be almost as bad of a parenting job as those asswipes that brag that their underachiever future prison inmate kid can beat up an honor student. Talk about negative reinforcement. The best they could hope for is a low-paying job with their name on their shirt working for an honor student.
The schools my kids are attending now do not do the bumper sticker thing, the student's performance is recognized in other ways.
EDIT: clarification ....... this was posted before I read mikey's post, I know him and have met his kids and yes I know he was joking.
