Achilles - OUCH!
Early in October I was running at a full clip and went down like a sack of potatoes when a sudden pain shot through my leg, making my foot numb. Blew out - at least to some degree - my achilles tendon. Spent the next few days in bed, and a week not driving the car because a clutch hurt too much to use. Messed up my wrist in the fall too...
Slowly, it got better... I could eventually walk without the excruciating pain, but still limped pretty badly.
Last week, my foot slipped off the edge of a step and I felt it pop again. For the next day or two it hurt pretty bad (I'd say on the order of day 3 of the original injury)
Last night, slipped in the snow coming up the driveway. BAM! I felt another pop. The uneven, lumpy snow isn't helping because it hurts to bend my foot upwards.
Hurts like mad now, but I can still walk....with a bad limp, if I turn my foot sideways so the tendon is not extended.
I've tried to take it very easy on this foot, but it doesn't seem to be helping much... I keep hurting it again.
Any advice for Achilles injuries? No Med insurance, and biz is slow so I can't do a Doc right now... who would probably want an MRI or something....
