Interesting that activating the cruise control creates a Critical warning.. I am not not sure of known issues (cause and effect) so, I would look at a wiring diagram to see how the cruise control interacts (maybe something shorting) with the Central Warning System and then check out the WSM for any references.
Maybe someone who has had this one can give better guidance.
