Apparently the policy is... NV plates get a "safety violation" while out-of-staters get a speeding ticket. Lovely, isn't it?

That was not my experience. I got a radar speeding ticket November 2007 at South Shore while I was living at Incline Village, NV. They didn't offer traffic school until I had more points, so I just paid it. It did show on my record when I moved back to CA and got insurance here. I don't know if it still shows after 3 years, but my insurance won't surcharge me for it anymore.
