this has been in the planning stage for about 3 years. i have a cheapo weber kettle (got it free) that i LOVE! i'm good with it. with a charcoal chimney starter, getting the coals ready is not a big deal. i still have 3 big bags of lump charcoal and a few bags of briquettes.

for 3 years i have been eyeballing the weber propane grills. i cannot walk by a weber display without opening the lids, studying the specs..learning the pro/cons about SS grill grates vs enamel cast iron..and talking to all the weber salespersons. i keep hearing the siren's song...

last week, i was in ACE (looking at bird feeders) and i did the weber walk. all the grills were marked down. sirens singing...a salesperson shows up and asked, "wanna buy a grill? how can i sell you one?" i told him i was waiting for the annual "friends and family" sale coming up..20% off. he said, "what if i give you an additional 25% off the current sale price?" SOLD! i bought a stainless weber genesis!! they assembled it and delivered it. i took some of it apart and put it back together correctly. i think i paid $460ish. originally marked $799.

cooked my first propane steaks last night! easy peasy! they taste almost the same as my charcoal cooking..almost. i sliced some eggplants and grilled them for tonight's eggplant lasagna!

now i'm searching for the perfect grill brush. hope it doenst take me another 3 years.
