Interested in an update?

Hi everybody,

One and a half year after starting this threat I would like to share some other modifications I did in the meantime.

Not surprisingly it figured out that the original transmission was a weak point. It actually did not fail but anyway I replaced it by a 1984+ ROW version with an oil cooler. It was completely rebuilt with changing the 2nd to the 5th gear to a shorter ratio and inserting a limited slip differential (all Guards Transmission parts). I also decided to upgrade the shifter assembly with the full wevo package (internal gate shift + short shift kit). The result? WOW - It is a different car now! A lot of people are starting with adding HP (as I did), but only the combination of engine and transmission makes the real deal!

Another big plus was the upgrade to 3.3L turbo brakes. The original brakes are quite good but the turbo brakes make a big difference. My sleeper now stops as good as it speeds up

For the moment I do not plan any more modifications. But one day it will be time for even a stronger engine. The basics (suspension, transmission, brakes) are ready for it

Thank you Pelicans for all the helpful information which one can find here!
