Well, the Canadians are definitely a bit of the extreme conditions. Crazy, but I'm usually also the crazy guy digging my car out, getting everything unstuck and unfrozen (ever have the doors freeze shut overnight? that's a good one, too) and plowing around with shovels in the back to either get myself out or someone else along the way...all in the name of egg nog and more snow shovels before everyone else gets motivated enough to get out of their driveways and clean them out of the stores. The multiple blizzard winter the east coast had the last winter was by far the most snow we've ever seen and it was alot of fun because I never get to see that much.

The 944 is probably not the most practical car in the extreme conditions, but for a good bit of us that do see snow but on a lesser scale, it's pretty awesome when set up right. I liked to just run with the power steering belt off in the snow because it made it much easier to feel how much traction I was getting up front. A bit of weight in the back and 20 psi in the tires and it's almost as fun as sitting inside with hot chocolate playing mario kart.

For the record, I run Bridgestone Potenza 960AS 205/60-15 all seasons, and they are by far the best multi purpose all seasons I've run. Sticky as glue, tons of treadlife, absolutely the best wet tire I could ask for, above average in the snow, and great feel in the summer given what they are. They pull more g's in the exit ramps than some of the Falkens and bridgestone potenza 760 summer tires I've ran in the past, which were also mediocre in the rain and quite uninspiring in the snow.
