At the time I got mine (iPhone 4, 32GB about 2-3 months ago) I tried to dig up any information on a possible 64GB device and of course it all was either wild speculation, rumor, conjecture or flat-out BS. So nobody knew. I just said hell with it and got the 32GB, which has been great. If a 64GB comes out now I really don't care. I'll hold on to this phone until they come out with a Verizon compatible version. There's really nothing wrong with the 32GB iPhone other than the ATT network, which for lack of a better word just plain sucks (lousy coverage, lots of dropped calls and "fade-out", etc.)

I'm considering some Apple and Verizon stock in anticipation of this (might be another year or more so I'm figuring it's not priced into the pricing yet). iPhone sales will go through the roof once this inevitably happens and millions of iPhone users can finally be rid of ATT. I'm on the fence as to whether I'd actually break my contract and pay the penalty (although I might) versus just waiting until 2012 and upgrading then - and going over to Verizon.

I might actually play both sides of that one and short ATT - I suspect they're going to take a beating once a Verizon-compatible device comes out. Their network, customer service and overall policies are simply dreadful. Overall the iPhone works great for most things, but the spotty and often "marginally adequate only" coverage on the ATT network is maddening at times. Contrast that to folks around here with Verizon devices (Androids, mostly) who have lightning-fast wireless Internet and all the rest all the time, pretty much everywhere.

ATT has really dropped the ball here. There's going to be no reason whatsoever for most customers to remain with them once their exclusive agreement with Apple expires.
