I love a project, and for that reason I like the idea of building a racing car. But I want to get onto the track sooner rather than later and at a realistic cost.

If I purchase a car, it will not be one that is built for me. It will be a car that has already been running in the Porsche Cup and with good results. These are not cheap, but the comparison is not that easy, as the cost to build a car can run rather high!!!

Here in Scandinavia you do not get many already up-and-running racing cars for sale, so this is another thing to consider. It could take quite some time until I find a good racing car that I would be willing to pay for. From that perspective it could be easier to find a good car and convert it.

Like PetrolHead611 said, I could always get a standard Porsche car and do the minimum to it and start from there - as this will be the first racing car for me, I will be crap and at the back anyway so plenty of time to work on both the car and my driving

Need to get the move to Finland done first (which is now only 4 weeks away ), and find a new garage for the cars, and then I can start to look for a race car. If luck is on my side, then I might be able to start competing during the 2011 summer, if not then I have a year to get the car and get ready
