I got my car back from the paint shop and the turn signals / 4 way flashers are flashing at about 4x the normal speed. I thought at first it was a bulb since that has been the case in other German cars owned. I changed and checked all the bulbs and they are working correctly.

The flasher is clicking and you can feel it so I know where it is. I can't seem to pull it out by pulling straight up. I did not want to pull too hard and break something "expensive". During the paint job, the rear lights were removed and unplugged, the fronts were wrapped and dangled. Since all the lights seem to work correctly, except for the rapid flashing, I was immediately drawn to the flasher.

Any thoughts? Correct procedure for removal of the flasher. 1979 SC Targa.
