Dan - thanks for posting this and thanks for the kind comments everyone. It's been the most fun I've ever done with woodworking. Think I've found my niche for a while.
Wolfe - have not tried the other pups yet. Waiting for the second guitar to come back from paint - it's a traditional alder strat. will be Kandy Apple Red with a quilted maple pick guard. It should be here next week and then I'll get it put together. I'll have Dan post pics for it too.
Daughter just got home from Creighton Univ. tonight and picked it up. She absolutely loves it and it sounds exactly how she wanted it to.
For those interested - Quilted Maple came from Horizon Woods. This body is solid quilted - it looks just as good from the back side. Neck is Mahogany and the fingerboard is East Indian Rosewood. I did all the wood working but know my limitations. Sent it to Pat Wilkins in Van Nuys CA for the finish. I have about 60 hours in this one. Wolfe used Alnico-3 magnets for the pups.
Dan is going to have to teach me how to play now!
