I used to have one that I used as a daily driver. Great car. Reminded me a lot of my old '68 1600 when I was under the back end of it. Good seats, fun commuter as the torque was right there when you needed it. Something like 90% of the torque was available at 1700-1800 rpm so yes, short shifting was the order of the day. I put a Tornado in the induction system and that gave it a little more umph above 4800 rpm. Kind of like secondaries kicking in. Got great gas mileage too.
