In current market I'd have to say you cant go wrong buying a race car that is already built. Prices are rock bottom and its a buyers market.
I couldnt give away my Boxster race car and have to hold onto it as I'm not willing to lose money spent on the car! I know of several 911 and 914 race cars that are going for $15K below their asking prices from a couple years ago.
If you have the cash you pretty much can name your price for very nice race cars.
