This is the Continental Tires Challenge Cup or something. It is not the ones that run with the ugly crap-wagons. This series is still run by Grand Am, but it is more like World Challenge junior. The cars all have their production tubs under the roll cages, and I think they use Continental DOT-R compound tires. The tube frame class is the GT one that runs with the "DP" cars. You are correct about that. If you cannot beat the Porsches with your street car, then make it a tube frame prototype. If it still won't win, stuff a huge engine in it and ask for some rules breaks. Mazda wins because Grand Am caters to the highest bidder. Porsche quit fighting the battle with the NASCAR controlled Grand Am and went back to ALMS where all the action is.
