Hi,
I had the 6A in my 81 sc and it worked good. The only thing that shops don't understand is that you cannot use a digital timing light to set it up... An analog one works great.
My car had issues and the mechanic blamed the MSD. I ended up buying a whole new unit and coil and swapped them. The problem was simply the Ox sensor relay so I have a used unit sitting in my garage. If you want it, pm me.
