Mine came with Falken RT-615K tires, basically a DOT autocross tire. I won't be driving it in the snow, as I do still value my own life. 
There's a lot of folks that post on the various Boxster forums that use their cars year round, supposedly with a good set of winter tires they do quite well. As Kaisen said, ground clearance would be the only issue, but what car doesn't have that problem?
