There is no doubt that modern computers of today running the latest OS are easier to use than the old days of command line. I still drop to the command line for some tasks.
It is frustrating when using a OS that you are simply ignorant about. I tried to set up a wireless router on a Mac a few days ago and I figured it would be super simple. I did not know about network locations on a MAC. Once that was explained to me it was simple. Way easier than setting up TCIP on a Win 3.33 computer.
I remember the days of punching in exact arcane strings of modem commands to program a 14400 baud modem that cost me 700 bucks. That was a real pain in the butt just to exchange text.
