Don't bother covering your oil cooler, as it is controlled by the oil thermostat, and really won't affect your engine operating temperature much, especially in the winter. If you want more heat, check your radiator thermostat. It is probably not closing all the way, or is opening too soon. To get the best heat, put in a higher temp thermostat for the winter, and put the cooler one back in the spring.
