That's what I'm doing. I already pulled the hood off and there is a paint line around hinge from crappy repaint. Also I think the the engine hoist I have would work from the side if I removed the fender and front wheel as it only needs a few inches more to reach the center of the motor and it has 360 degree casters so foreword movement is completely possible. See pic. My friend used this hoist to pull an engine from a supra and used the side method.

I just got some coolant and other crap on the timing belt today when I was completely removing it so I'm going to replace it now.
