Funny how hard some easy jobs are when you reinvent wheels.
I wouldn't try to lift anything without both legs locked down.
OTOH with caution, the lift arm has been known to work extended beyond the last locking position.
Nuts on the fenders are covered in Cosmolene, one side I eventually got off ok, the other I gave up on after a few hours and decided to wait until I could lift the car and remove the wheels.
