Check the vertical cables attached to each bottom corner of the door? Although both would have to be broken for no movement at all.

I just had a similar problem repaired on a 14 year old 1/2 HP Craftsman chain drive opener.

In my case the nylon drive gear teeth on the motor were stripped. Spinning, but no bite, caused in part by a few wonky old metal rollers on the tracks with shot bearings.

I had the gear in the opener replaced, and replaced all the track rollers with new, much quieter nylon ones and the alignment checked. Good as new.
