her ins. co. just called - said they est. the value of my 2001 Subaru Outback as $6,406
said they would pay for a rental car, but only up to $30/day (I said your insured idiot wiped out my ability to use my car, so I want something comparable to it as a rental).
said they do not need to take another look at my car (which had some dents in the hood)
said they owe me nothing for rendering the extra set of tires useless (I said it had snow tires & hwy tires, and their idiot had rendered them useless to me -- to put me back in the place I was before she hit me, they should pay me the fair market value of the tires (which they would then own)).
so that's where this thing is now.
I may need to write them a "lawyer letter" or have a friend write one, and I might file a complaint with the Oregon agency that oversees ins. co.s.
See, the govt. is nice b/c then it will go into a file -- even I don't get what I want -- and next time the legislature is thinking about enacting a new law, they can look at that file.
