I don't always use a jack, but when I do, I prefer air-hydraulic.

I use this one from Greg Smith Equipment. It allows me to raise my Kwiklift, without bending over and putting a lot of strain on my back (age and back surgery). The handle locks in a vertical and 45 degree position, rolls easily, and has its wheels arranged so that it pivots extremely well.
