Italdesign (Giugiaro) was commissioned by VW to design a new Scirocco (they designed the original also). They did preliminary design and models. VW then declined, sent Italdesign packing, and decided to do their own in-house design.
VW's in-house Scirocco design looked suspiciously a LOT like Italdesign's design.
Isuzu later, also hired Italdesign to design the new Impulse... and it looked a LOT like the earlier VW exercise... Isuzu used the design. hmmm.
Put the Impulse and the Scirocco 2 next to each other... pretty similar.
BTW, the Impulse with the Lotus suspension option and the Turbo option was a pretty nice driving car.

Ah, that makes sense...nice job VW lol. I wouldn't mind an Impulse with Lotus suspension but they seem few and far between now. Sciroccos are fun too.
