Okay, here's the explanation, first off. 20 years ago, my job was as an art director. So my garage has both a color and a lighting scheme. I'd apologize for it, but I like working in the place too much now to regret it.
However... it's a working garage. I do woodworking in it -- metal fabrication in it. And of course, work on the 911. Pelicanite Tyson Schmidt came down and we swapped a new engine into the car at the end of last year. It gets a lot messier than you see in even this picture.
It's small, just over 20'x21'. And the total budget for the whole deal was only about $2,500.
I did all of it myself, and everything you see in it came second-hand, re-purposed or home-made. I learned to set tile. I learned to weld. I built a lot of cabinets.
Here's one example. The sink unit on the right was made out of a second-hand Strong Hold cabinet. It set me back $78.50.
I cut the cabinet up and re-welded it into a unit with two lower cabinets, a counter-top, and also the four small upper cabinets.
Everything you see except the sink and one piece in the backsplash came from that donor cabinet. Here it is with paint:
