Quoted from Chas White "There's a book, (non-fiction) where these guys rebuild a B-29 up in Greenland, then, on the final day, they're taxiing for take-off and the gas can that's been suspended over the pony engine that's supposed to keep the instruments working spills onto the engine and the whole plane goes up in flames.
Sad, sad day."

There is a documentary of that plane "frozen in time". Peobably could find the video on youtube. The salavge team was running low on funds. They were trying to get the plane out before winter set in. So it wouldnt be stuck another year which may have jeopordized the salvage operation as they may not have had enough funds to go back the folowing year.
