If it looks like the grenade on the T-shirt, there are several problems with the info posted so far. The T-shirt depicts a Mk2 fragmentation grenade.

This is a Mk2 grenade:

Mk2 grenades came with a M5, M6, M10 or M204 fuze. Never an M206 fuze.
But as mentioned, fuzes can be interchanged. This was a common practice on the M61 and later grenades, as different fuzes can make the grenade useful for different applications.

Fuze interchange was not common with the Mk2 because the Mk2 used granulated TNT. This caused a detonation hazard when trying to change out the fuzes. (This is also why Mk2 grenades are popular as paper weights - the granulated TNT can simply be poured out.)

Due to the conflicting information from your friend, and to the age of a Mk2 grenade (production ceased in the 60s), you should consider it unsafe to handle.

No pics?
There is always the chance your friend is just BS-ing you about even having one.
