no one is trying to burn the cop at the stake. i would have said something to him ASAP. familarity is what gets people killed. if the firearms wasnt equiped with a safety, and the nice lady pulled the trigger accidentally..the horrors.
with gun ownership, there are crystal clear responsibilties. not only do you have to assume the pistol is loaded, you have to behave and accept that others around you DO NOT have the experience to know what to do, should they come up to your loaded piece.
