On an 88, there are two places (that I know of). A). Inside the boot on the opposite side of the porsche crest on the hood is a sticker with the paint code and the cars options and B). According to the bentley manual, inside the boot, remove the carpeting on the right front fender area, there's a plate with the color code and your color (in german). Hope this helps.
