I give them my address and full disclosure on the car. Do yourself a big favor and take out full coverage insurance on the car before you put it up for sale. One dip-stick behind the wheel and you could be out all your $$$....
If someone wanted to meet at the mall to sell me their car I would, instead, suggest that we meet at the police station. That way both of us can feel comfortable and as I cannot put an address with the car, I could have the nice officers run the VIN to make sure it isn't stolen. I am VERY distrustful of people who want to sell electronics, expensive clothing, or cars by meeting me at the mall.
The exception to this would be if you lived in the absolute middle of nowhere. If I were selling a car in the middle of nowhere I would give the person the choice of coming to my house or meeting me at the place of their choosing (that was safe, a mall, a bank, etc).
