No, Porsche does not require a special code reader to access OBD II codes, just about any make or model will get you into the “non proprietary” codes section in the DME, as required by Federal regulations. Unfortunately, to get at what Porsche has designated as “proprietary” (ABS, PSM, Airbags, etc.)you will need a PST II, PIWIS or Durametric system.
