We bought a 46" Panasonic Plasma 1080I in 2009, love it. The none HD channels, however, and shows, do not show well on Plasma screens. At least this one. We bought another Panasonic a 42" 1080P, the next generation, and love that as well. Watching NFL football is a gas, big screen, incredible detail, priceless.
One thing though, is that the Plasma TV's do not like direct light on them. Back lighting is ok, or no light is best. You won't see the screen detail with too much light shining on TV.
