I was in the same situation last December, though I can't say the TV was actually broke. Here's what I ended up with... $619 out of box
LG 42 LCD 1080p, 120 refresh, LAN internet with youtube, netflix, etc.
Just bought it in December and no complaints. Easy set up picture looks great, even old movies in B&W look incredible.
I use the internet feature daily. Last night I found an hour long youtube video of TOP Gear 2010 in America and it looked pretty good. I've also ordered movies off the internet and it was absolutely flawless.
If I've been absent here lately, it's because I'm watching a lot more TV.
