Here's a Wierd One
A man was jailed Sunday evening after he allegedly stole a can of Starbucks coffee from a convenience store, then led authorities on a chase along Interstate 5 that reached speeds of 120 miles per hour.
Linn County sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect, Christopher Barnett, 19, of Tacoma, Wash., on North Coburg Road, after his BMW sport utility vehicle became stuck in a field east of Harrisburg.
Deputies began chasing Barnett after an employee of a Tangent-area convenience store reported that a man ran from the business with a can of stolen coffee after demanding cash from the till. The employee refused to hand over any money, Sheriff Tim Mueller said.
Barnett is being held in the Linn County Jail on charges of robbery, theft and attempting to elude.
- he has a BMW but winds up stealing coffee, WTF?
- if he has to steal coffee, why not real coffee instead of Starbucks?
- he apparently does not watch the local news -- the last time guys tried to rob a coffee stand here, the barrista blew one away & winged the second guy
