Safety equipment is not "idiot proofing," it's just smart. Human beings are not perfect, and we should be intelligent enough to plan ahead for inevitable goof ups. That's why we have seatbelts, lifejackets, airbags, helmets, highway dividers, etc. We all make mistakes...that's just life.
