With this information then much of what I wrote above I would change. So you have a 100K MBUSA warranty or aftermarket? I must have missed that part and that makes me think that you need a new dealership instead of a different make of vehicle.
I agree with you that the MB forums aren't as technical at all but I run by them because usually the similar in age vehicles all go wrong at the same time.
